If you're like me, you probably wanna tell the world what totally awesome song you're currently headbanging to while you tap away at your keys. With Windows Live Messenger you can click on the "Show what I'm listening to" option in the personal message box. And if all is well, the current track being played in Windows Media Player should show up there in all it's glory, garnering you coolness points across the globe.
But, thanks to Murphy's law, sometimes you may find that even though the said option is checked, your status message doe NOT change accordingly! Well don't tear out your hair just yet. Coz this is what you should do.
Open up Windows Media Player, and go to Tools => Options (You might need to hit the ALT key to see the hidden menu)
Click the Plug-ins tab, then on the Category Column, Click on Background and make sure Windows Live Messenger Music Plug-in is ticked. If not, tick it and Apply then OK.
Btw, you can also opt to show your current track in GTalk, while you're there.
Thanks to http://www.fnode.com for pointing this out.
