This one's sort of the opposite of "The Triumph Of Armaggedon's Horde". The imagery I conjured up while writing this were pretty much out of the awesomeness that is Diablo.

Battlemage Ascendant

an ancient evil from a forgotten age
aisen from the depths of hell
vast burning hosts of the demonking
march forth to a blatant death knell

cities of men razed to the ground
with innocent blood streams run red
harbinger of doom calls at the door
a hero replies in its stead

the holy avenger in his mighty hand
elder forces swirl in its razor edge
in enchanted mail he enters the fray
with arcane arts summoned to his aid

dread strikes those who see his visage
even callous hellspawn shall falter
none can nor will stand before his blade
he reverses the tide of the slaughter

blue steel shears through thick hides
cruel horned heads are cloven
skyfire arcs shot from his palm
engulfs the ravenous legion

a path he cut through the deadly swarm
dark demon blood flows in his wake
he stands before the demonlord
who mocks this mortal's challenge

hellfire bursts from a colossal axe
as the titanic beast attacks
yet the puny human it cannot touch
nor escape his slashes and hacks

earth shudders as the archfiend falls
the blade driven through its black heart
defeated Gehenna opens her walls
and reclaims the demonic hordes
